Fries are why

“I kind of married into potatoes,” Hanneke laughs. When she and Michel visited Alberta from Holland in 2000, they didn't intend to stay, let alone carry on Michel's family business—potatoes. Twenty years and four children later, they run a sophisticated 2,500-acre operation in Barnwell. Their main crop is—you guessed it—Russet potatoes, which are harvested, turned into fries (yay) and then shipped across the globe. We were proud to stand by Michel and Hanneke when they bought their first 250 acres, and we're proud to stand by them today, as they expertly and passionately feed the world.
